NSA Registration Information and Payment

Test Registration Procedures

Each teacher will register online and should have the following information ready:

  1. teacher name
  2. school information (address, telephone number)
  3. student name and grade level
  4. correct exam to order for each student that will take the NSA

Choosing the correct exam to order.

There are two options of exams from which to choose:

  1. All Level Proficiency Exam – This exam allows a teacher to predict a proficiency level from range of proficiency between Intermediate Low and Advanced High and is appropriate for more advanced learners (Advanced Spanish III, Spanish IV and above.)
  2. Specific Level Exams – These exams are meant to provide data on specific learner outcomes at a specific proficiency level in order to help students improve in specific areas (such as: identify main idea of a text, identify supporting details, make inferences)

The levels do NOT necessarily correspond to course levels but rather to proficiency levels

NOTE: Teachers may only register students who are currently enrolled in their classes. 


Teachers must be a current member of the AATSP in order to administer the NSA.  Teachers can renew their AATSP dues directly on the NSA registration form when registering students for the exam or they can renew on the AATSP website.

Registration for the NSA is open annually from August 1st through June 30th. The Registration Form is not available during the month of July.

STEP TWO: RECEIVE CONFIRMATION EMAIL When teachers submit the Online Registration Form, an invoice will be generated automatically and will list the number of exams ordered and the amount owed. This e-mail will be sent automatically to (1) the registering teacher and (2) the NSE National Office. Teachers should PRINT OUT the e-mail invoice for use in step three below.

NOTE: Teachers are obligated to pay the amount due for any exams ordered during the registration period (August 1 - June 30).  Payment must be made online with a credit card before user names and passwords will be sent to registering teachers.


  STEP THREE: MAKE PAYMENT  Payment for the NSA must be made online using a credit card. (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover) 

Teachers can click below to pay by credit card. You will be taken to the payment page where you will be asked to put in (1) the amount shown on your invoice and (2) your confirmation number.  To use the online payment system you will need to use an updated web browser.

NOTE: All Registration invoices must be over $10.00 to be paid online. [Note: NSE is not able to accept purchase orders.]

Note: Teachers who register by Saturday at 11:59 pm (PST) will receive usernames and passwords for your registered NSA exams on the Tuesday following receipt of payment.
